Version 3 and higher of www.das.psu.edu meets all guidelines set forth by the Web Accessibility Initiative Web Accessibility Initiative (http://www.w3.org/WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) (http://www.w3.org/) and conforms to all standards in Section 508 Section 508 (http://section508.gov) (29 U.S.C. ' 794d) of the Rehabilitation Act.
The adherence to Web standards has produced a site that is accessible to all members, stakeholders and friends of the university community. Pages in this site load 50-200% faster than the previous design.
Browser Requirements
Standards-compliant browsers are required to view the full visual page layout. As of this writing, compliant browsers include (in alphabetical order): Microsoft Internet Explorer 5+, Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape 6+, Opera 7+, Safari. Browsers not meeting these minimum requirements as well as text-based browsers (Lynx) have access to all page content, but without the page layout.
